Great time for bird watching

437 bird-species have been recorded and acknowledged in Portugal (including the Atlantic islands) until the present day. About 330 of which occur with regularity. About 270 bird-species can be seen in the Eastern Algarve throughout a year, plus possible vagrants and rarities.
The Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, along the coastline of the Eastern Algarve is prime territory for many of these bird species.
